Clicking a Buy button will open a link to the external FoxAudio Creations shop site on Fastspring, where you can select the products you want to buy. Since there's no way to include audio previews on a Fastspring storefront, this seemed like the most straightforward solution. Apologies for the slight clunkiness of this system.

M-DRIVE is a varied collection of music and sound effects that are inspired by a certain classic 16-bit games console of the early nineties. You know, the one with a controller that looked like a fat boomerang and a TOTALLY RADICAL spiky blue mascot. Yep, that one. Read more...

Refined/pious

1.1 (11.07.19)

This track was a commission by Amy Summers for Amylinn Summersia, Executor to the Will of Almighty God for the Holy Lunar Empire of Leporidus - one of her roleplaying characters, a holy knight, and antagonist of the heroes.

Righteous Thunder is thus intended as a character theme, for an upper class cleric type with a slightly threatening, slightly mysterious edge. It could also go with a vampire character. It could also work as the theme for a dungeon, such as a haunted castle or mansion, or it could even be used as a church theme - though it might not be a particularly benevolent-feeling church.

Character theme

Threatening/comical

1.0 (16.07.19)

This track was commissioned by developer DerKIAS for his upcoming game The Seventh Warrior. Darkness Reawakens is the theme of Dark, demonic Crown Prince of Hell, once feared and respected in equal regard... until those blasted heroes sealed him away for a thousand years. Thus, this is the theme of a demonic former-ruler who has since fallen from his seat of power, and is now something of a laughing stock, at least among those who remember him at all. While it would probably best fit comedy villains, especially those with an air of refinement, I could also see this track accompanying a more serious villain in an otherwise-comedic game, where EVERY character is a source of gags. It might also work for the tower of a powerful wizard, or the castle of a less malevolent demon character. Town

Cheerful/bustling

1.0 (12.07.19)

A typical trading town theme for a typical trading town. When composing, I envisioned a lively marketplace that draws in people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, such as one that you might find in a prosperous seafaring city in a medieval fantasy world; as such, there are a handful of different cultural influences in a predominantly Celtic-inspired track. This could also work as the theme for a seafaring character of unknown origin, for a minigame, or for a cheerful tavern. It might also fit the fortress of a ragtag band of friendly mercenaries.

Story

Tense/tragic

1.1 (18.07.19)

During a collaborative music pack project, I asked some of the others what kind of situational music they thought seemed to be lacking in the RPG Maker repertoire. Somebody suggested more sedate, sinister backing for story moments of tragedy, mystery, or overarching threat. A rough version of this track was the result of that conversation, and after a few years of it sitting idle, I decided to go back, dust it off, polish it up, and release it for people to use. Music for story moments is something I have always especially enjoyed composing, and I'd like to occasionally put together some different moods, or different choices for similar moods, to distribute here on the site. Story is a major part of most games nowadays, and I can see story-focused tracks being useful for most game genres, and even video work. This particular track focuses on the aforementioned dread or tragedy feel - possibly the first appearance of a sour-faced character who will later prove to be a villain, the aftermath of a great battle with few survivors, or the discovery of a party member's hometown reduced to ashes.

Dungeon

Foreboding/mysterious

1.1 (17.07.19)

Written as a dungeon theme with RPG Maker in mind, Barrows was inspired by the passage tombs of the neolithic Britons, and the idea of an RPG dungeon extending upon their design and their primitive feel. So, I tried to keep it fairly simple, using only enough embellishments to keep it from sounding dull, to reflect the quiet mystery of such places. The result is quite a mellow, subdued theme with a hint of menace. This theme would also work well in less ancient crypts, caves, haunted woods and the like, and would probably make good event music, too, for situations that call for a bit of tension or mystery.

Empowering/determined

1.2 (17.07.19)

While working on ideas for a music pack with the RMN Music Pack guys, I was considering the defaulttracks that came with RPG Maker XP and VX Ace and it suddenly occured to me that there was nothing that particuarly stood out as suitable for something I'd've loved to put in one of my games: a tank. Did you ever play Phantasy Star IV? While in most classic RPGs you can get a boat or an airship or something, in PSIV you can get a friggin' TANK. And it's COOL. And it comes with its own HUD for random battles and has cannons and bombs and everything. If I were putting something like that into a game I was making, I'd certainly want it to have its own music... and here it is! Make (or commission) yourself a tank sprite set, apply this theme and let your players roll about feeling like a boss. It'd also work well as the theme for an engineer character, for example, or for certain story events, or of course for other game genres entirely!

By purchasing any track or pack shown in this section, you agree to adhere to the provided license agreement. In summary, the music and sound effects offered in the Shop, once purchased, may be used in any free or commercial project, as long as you're not just packaging and reselling assets. You also agree to provide credit to Toby Wilkinson, Snowy Fox, or Toby "Snowy Fox" Wilkinson, and to provide the URL of this website (foxaudio.co.uk), in any works in which you use the provided audio. Pretty simple and obvious stuff, I should think.

While they will work with any game engine that supports MP3 and OGG files, the tracks offered on this page are optimised for use with Enterbrain's RPG Maker. Each "single track" actually includes several versions in different formats - the full-loop and full-length OGG versions contain comments that will tell your RPG Maker game where to play back from so that they will loop seamlessly. I'm yet to confirm how to make this work in other game engines, so by default, in other engines, they will play like any other audio file.
